Women in prison just like women not in prison experience sexual urges as this is a natural part of the reproductive cycle and well just a lot of fun, unfortunately women in prison are not allowed access to sexual pleasure devices such as dildos and vibrators and are left to improvise as a result. Here is a run down of some popular DIY sex toys (Do not try these at home!)
1) Sanitary Towels / Maxi Pads
Maxi Pads are on item that are readily available in prison and as a result women regularly make dildos from them bu rolling them up and inserting them into a glove packed really tight. In womens prison vernacular they are often referred to as ‘purple whales’ due to their odd appearance once inserted into a purple medical glove.
2) Compacted Feces (Your eyes are working just fine).
Not going to go into too much detail but this is when you use dried compacted shit! This one comes with the largest of the health warnings on this list but goes to show the sheer desperation of some in mates due to their circumstances and is surely a call for the authorities to consider ways to provide satisfactory sexual health care in prison.
3) Soap
It has also been common for women to fashion a phallic penis from bars of soap. One woman described her experience on YouTube stating “You make a dildo out of soap” and going onto explain that she once found a finger shaped bar of soap on the floor in the shower. Inmates would carve them and use them as a type of currency along with jewelry and other items.
“We made ours out of lye soap and put [them] in a trash bag and formed it and there ya have lil buddy,” said another former inmate, revealing on a Prison Talk forum about her experiences.
4) Product / Food Items
Carrots, Bananas and any other conveniently shaped organic items are also popular however some prisons order food to be chopped and prepared off site to reduce the opportunity for these items to be stolen for non-nutritional use. Just give them some god damn bananas I say!
5) Snack Food Packaging
On a Reddit Ask Me Anything thread, an anonymous guard claiming to work at a women’s prison commented that she had found “a monstrously huge dildo made from cloth, a pringles can, and newspapers.” Another officer said they even used jolly ranchers, melting them down and forming them into a dildo.

Firstly you should avoid trying to fashion dildos from objects that are not safe for insertion for any logical reason such as sharpness and the materials used.
