Something strange is happening in Portland, Oregon, or so people thought. Let’s start from the beginning. A few weeks ago sex toys mostly dildos began appearing all over Portland hanging from power lines and such. This created a bit of a media storm online and many rumours were going around. One of which was that a sex toy shop had made a mistake and ordered 10,000 faulty dildos and had to get rid of them.
As it turns out the rumor was half true. Apparently a female artist who cannot be named claims herself and some friends came into possession of more than 10,000 sex toys which were rejected due to a design flaw and took it upon themselves to begin “dick tossing”.
When asked she said “It had to be done. I have no idea why, but it had to,” she told VICE. “Dick-tossing is an exercise in happiness. It was just a fun, hilarious thing to do.”
The art is apparently not over and will continue for sometime with different toys appearing on the streets of Portland.
Local utilities companies have confirmed to Reuters they don’t pose a fire risk.
When asked about her motives and whether they had any meaning attached she commented “I think people should be more comfortable talking about sex and sex organs,” she said. “A lot of people own sex toys. This shouldn’t be an embarrassing thing to see in public.”
