With technology ever evolving, sex toys are now becoming more and more technologically advanced but this dildo which is part of an art piece called “21 Grams” shown at Milan Design week last month is both a sex toy and an urn capable of holding up to 21 grams of your partners deceased lovers ashes. Mark Sturkenboom created the piece which has an outer layer that is translucent with a gold urn inside containing the actual ashes and looks pretty impressive despite it’s tongue in cheek concept.
21 Grams is of course the proposed weight of a persons soul as suggested by pseudo-scientist Alejandro González Iñárritu who has of course been discredited however the notion of this weight has been romanticized in film and popular culture and seemed appropriate for the project, as though the soul is still within this manufactured phallus.
Despite only selling one so far he said that there has been renewed interest after showing it off at Milan Design Week.
